The old fashioned Nintendo game cartridges are pin to pin connected via the cartridge socket and its connection pins are easily got bent or contaminated when a game cartridge was not inserted properly or a contaminated cartridge was inserted. As a result, the Switch console will not recognize any cartridge inserted or sometimes only inconsistently recognized.
